Congratulations to Kevin Christophersen, an associate professor at ºÚÁÏÍø’s School of Business and Entrepreneurship. Like many ºÚÁÏÍø faculty, Christopherson not only teaches, he works in the industry. And recently, the Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC) recognized his media relations consulting work with BevLedge at the 67th Annual Golden Trumpet Awards event, where he and his company K Communications won a Silver Trumpet Award for Media Relations (Business to Consumer).

“It’s truly an honor to be recognized for my work in media relations, especially for securing coverage for BevLedge on major outlets like Good Morning America, The Today Show, and other leading news platforms,” Christophersen says.

The Golden Trumpet Awards are given by the PCC, a network of Chicago-area professionals making up one of the nation’s largest independent public relations membership organizations. For more than 65 years, the Golden Trumpet Awards have honored excellence in public relations, recognizing outstanding campaigns and individuals who have made a significant impact in the media and communications industry.

Helping to make the evening a success were ten ºÚÁÏÍø student volunteers: Julia Martinez Arroyo, Isabella Morena, Kate Larroder, Celina Frias, Albina Purelku, Van Immonen, Marina Bradley, Lizbeth Baeza, Jayla Griggs, and Ashley Milon. Students engaged in the event from beginning to end, assisting with setup, welcoming attendees, distributing badges and table assignments, escorting honorees to photo and interview opportunities, and handing out Golden Trumpet Awards to winners.

Beyond lending their support, the students gained invaluable exposure to the field by connecting with leading publicity professionals from both agencies and client organizations.

The evening highlighted both Christophersen’s professional accomplishments and the enthusiasm of ºÚÁÏÍø students eager to make their mark in the industry.
